CCHR-01.
Small checkerboard design by Navajo weaver
Lillie Sales, Nageezi, NM. This rug is made from homespun wool
dyed by Lillie in 1999 and is 17” x 35”. Lillie has her own herd of
sheep and goats, the source for her wool and is assisted by her husband,
Cecil. They live outside the northern end of Chaco Canyon, 10 miles from
the nearest paved road and had lived there for the 65 years of her life
when this rug was woven. $60.00

CCHR-02 . Small diamond
design by Navajo weaver, Helen White, Nageezi, NM. is made from homespun
natural color wool. It is 18” x 24”. Very precise and attractive
weaving that will provide color and tradition to any decor. Helen has
won awards at the New Mexico State Fair for her larger weavings. $125.00

CCHR-07. Classic Red
Storm/Two Gray Hills style rug measuring 29” x 38”. Made in1999 by
Navajo weaver Lillie Sales, Nageezi, NM. Very good tight weaving of
homespun wool with crisp definition in the pattern. Lillie, age 65 when
this rug was made, has her own herd of sheep and goats, the source of
her wool. She and her husband Cecil live outside the northern end of
Chaco Canyon, 10 miles from the nearest paved road. $500.00

of Life” and “Storm” pattern Navajo weaving. Very well done with
crisp definition, excellent color and tight weave. Size is 31” x 45”.
Woven circa 1960. An excellent addition to any collection or an

Ganado Red/Storm pattern weaving by Lillie Sales, Nageezi, NM. Made of

Maze/Three Dimensional pattern made from homespun wool by Lillie Sales,

excellent weave. Lillie has her own herd of sheep and goats, the source

CCHR-60. Navajo Sand
Painting rug by Anne Nez, Sawmill, AZ. This 31” x 31” wool weaving
is a reproduction of a sand painting used in Navajo ceremonials and
includes buffaloes, signs of the four seasons, medicine bundles, birds,
feathers and other Navajo symbols. Very well woven by this outstanding
weaver who has received awards for her work at the New Mexico State
Fair. $600.00

CCHR-66. Classic “Two
Gray Hills” Navajo pattern weaving by Ida Dakai, Gallup, NM. This rug,
38” x 26”, is made from undyed natural color wool. $300.00

CCHR-70. Navajo diamond
pattern rug by Georgia Sales, Albuquerque, NM. Homespun, natural color,
wool is 31-1/2 x 49”. Georgia, the daughter of Lillie Sales, a Navajo
weaver from Nageezi, NM., learned to weave by watching and helping her
mother who at 67 continues to raise sheep and goats; and spin and weave
in her home just outside the northern end of Chaco Canyon. $240.00

CCHR-92. Classic “Two
Gray Hills” Navajo weaving. This is an older tapestry weave of natural
color homespun wool that was undoubtedly woven by one of the outstanding
Navajo weavers of her day. This weaving is 16” x 27”, is slightly
soiled on one side and was purchased from a long time trader in Camp
Verde, AZ. $685.00

CCHR-113. Navajo “Yei”
weaving by Helen Begay, Pinon, AZ. This 32” x 44” wool rug was
purchased from the Crownpoint Rug Auction in June, 1989. $420.00

CCHR-165. Navajo Moreno
wool weaving by Sarah Collateta is 30” x 54”. The ultra-soft Moreno
wool was purchased from Washington State and was cleaned, combed, spun
and vegetal dyed by Sarah. Sarah and her sister, Virginia Smith
(Needles. CA.) use Moreno wool that does not form knots when spun and
is extremely soft when finished. This rug pattern originated from the
mother of these sisters in the early 1900’s near Jeddito, AZ. $600.00

CCHR-166 . Traditional
Klagetoh type Navajo weave by Anne Nez, Sawmill,AZ. This large 60” x
96” rug is home spun and won 3rd place at the New Mexico State Fair
in 2001. The award speaks for itself and the quality of this
outstanding rug. $3,333.00

Navajo weaving by Sarah Collateta, age 75, Polacca, AZ. The
Moreno wool for this 31” x 49” rug was purchased from Washington
State and was cleaned, combed, spun and vegetal dyed by Sarah. Sarah and
her sister, Virginia Smith (Needles, CA.) use Moreno wool that does not
form knots when spun and is extremely soft when finished. This eye
dazzler pattern originated from the mother of these weavers in the early
1900’s near Jeddito, AZ.$600.00

made in the traditional way with embroidery design and black crochet
